Über 100 Skigebiete in elf Ländern haben die Skigebietsexperten von Skiresort.de in der vergangenen Saison vor Ort geprüft.
Die Testkriterien des – laut eigenen Angaben weltweit größten Testportals von Skigebieten – waren unter anderem: Größe des Skigebiets, Schneesicherheit und Pistenpräparierung, aber auch Hüttenangebot, Sauberkeit, Familienfreundlichkeit und Après-Ski.

Per la 16a volta avrà luogo a Selva di Val Gardena un concorso di sculture in neve.

Già per la 16a volta si svolgerà a Selva Gardena il tradizionale concorso di sculture in neve. Si tratta di una manifestazione, organizzata dall’Associazione Turistica di Selva Gardena in collaborazione con la locale Associazione Artigiani, che trova sempre maggiore interesse sia tra la popolazione locale che tra i villeggianti. Infatti questi capolavori richiamano non solo turisti, soprattutto nel periodo natalizio e durante le settimane bianche, ma anche critici e scultori professionisti.
L’eccezionalità consiste nel fatto che, anziché scolpire nel legno come usuale in Val Gardena, questo artista crea la sua figura in un cubo di neve della misura di 8m x 8m x 4m appositamente predisposto. Prima di mettersi all’opera, i concorrenti dovranno sottoporre alla giuria uno o più modellini delle loro sculture. Il modello scelto verrà quindi trasformato dal 20 dicembre 2011 al 5 gennaio 2012 nel centro di Selva Gardena, nel prato sottostante il municipio, in vere e proprie opere d’arte.
La premiazione avrà luogo il giorno 5 gennaio 2012 alle ore 16.00 direttamente sul posto con intrattenimento musicale di una „Böhmische“ dell‘ Alto Adige.
Questa scultura, a conferma della tradizionale vocazione artistica gardenese, potrà essere ammirata dal pubblico fino ad inverno inoltrato.

16° Schneefiguren-Wettbewerb

in Wolkenstein vom 20.12.2011 bis 05.01.2012

Auch heuer wird in Wolkenstein der traditionelle Schneefiguren-Wettbewerb stattfinden.

Auch heuer wird in Wolkenstein der traditionelle Schneefiguren-Wettbewerb stattfinden.
Es handelt sich um Schneeskulpturen, wundervolle Kreationen, die dem Zentrum von Wolkenstein auch heuer wieder eine besondere Glanznote verleihen werden.
Schon zum 16. Mal findet heuer in Wolkenstein der traditionelle Schneeskulpturenwettbewerb statt. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine vom Tourismusverein Wolkenstein organisierte Veranstaltung, die seitens der Einheimischen als auch der Gäste regen Zuspruch erfährt. Die Schneefiguren locken demnach auch auswärtige Künstler und Kunstliebhaber nach Gröden.
Die Besonderheit der Veranstaltung liegt darin, dass der Künstler nicht, wie sonst in Gröden üblich, in Holz schnitzt, sondern ein Schneeklotz mit einem Maß von 8m x 8m x 4m bearbeitet. Schon im Herbst werden die Schnitzer Modelle anfertigen, die von einer Jury bewertet werden. Ein Modell wird schließlich ausgesucht, welches schließlich vom 20. Dezember 2011 bis zum 5. Januar 2012 im Zentrum von Wolkenstein in Schnee geschnitzt, und so zu wunderbaren Kunstwerk verwandelt wird.
Die Preisübergabe wird am 5. Januar 2012 um 16.00 Uhr direkt vor Ort stattfinden, musikalisch begleitet von einer Böhmischen aus Südtirol.
Bei entsprechender Witterung stellen die Schneefiguren noch eine für Einheimische und Gäste bewundernswerte, und für die Tradition unseres Tales besonders ausdrucksvolle Kulisse dar.

Il piacere dello sci di fondo in Val Gardena

L’area Val Gardena-Alpe di Siusi è il comprensorio di sci di fondo più grande d’Europa, ne fa parte il Monte Pana, dove si svolgeranno le gare FIS-Opa, il 10 e l’11 dicembre 2011

Val Gardena, novembre 2011, Val Gardena non è solo un paradiso per tutti gli amanti di  sci alpino ma anche un’oasi felice per gli appassionati di  sci nordico, che qui possono divertirsi rilassandosi e ammirando alcune tra le più belle vette delle Alpi.
L’area sci di fondo  Val Gardena-Alpe di Siusi comprende complessivamente  115km di piste perfettamente preparate, cui fanno parte il  centro fondo Monte Pana e gli anelli della Vallunga. Le piste della Val Gardena rientrano nel circuito  Dolomiti Nordic Ski, ovvero, il carosello di sci di fondo più grande d'Europa, con circa 1.300 km di piste, 11 comprensori, un unico skipass e la garanzia di piste perfettamente preparate.
La pista della Vallunga, nei pressi di Selva, si trova nel Parco Naturale Puez-Odle, nel bel mezzo di quella zona delle Dolomiti, riconosciute dall’UNESCO Patrimonio Naturale dell’Umanità. Qui sono a disposizione 3 anelli, per diversi gradi di difficoltà, tra cui la pista nera che si sviluppa su un percorso lungo ben 12km, che porta fino al “Pra da Ri”, un largo e selvaggio pianoro in fondo alla valle.
Sull’altopiano del  Monte Pana (S. Cristina) è stato creato un Centro Fondo a 1.636 metri, con cinque serpentine da 2,5 a 7,5 km, che si sviluppano in un meraviglioso contesto naturale e che sono adatte sia per i principianti sia per i progrediti, tecnica classica o skating. I nomi ladini rispecchiano in parte le caratteristiche dei tracciati: Mont Dessot (2,5km e 93mt di dislivello), Palusc (5,2km e 155mt di dislivello), La Buja (6,7km e 195mt di dislivello), Vedl Verzon (3,3km e 118mt di dislivello) e la più lunga, la Val Scura, che fa da collegamento con l’Alpe di Siusi (7,5km e 270mt di dislivello). Sono attesi circa 300 atleti, da 20 nazioni diverse e Eugen Hofer, Sindaco di S. Cristina e promotore della manifestazione ha dichiarato: “La Val Gardena, in inverno, è conosciuta soprattutto per lo sci alpino. Vorremmo, con questa manifestazione, rafforzare l’interesse per lo sci nordico e diffondere la conoscenza delle strutture che abbiamo a disposizione. Sul Monte Pana abbiamo realizzato un centro fondo innovativo, ben strutturato, con un circuito molto articolato e adatto a tutte le esigenze“, ha concluso il Sindaco Pietro Piller-Cottrer , famoso campione della Nazionale Italiana si è così espresso sul tracciato di gara: “È una pista tortuosa con tante belle salite dove potersi sfogare, per poi tirare il fiato e iniziare le discese, lanciandosi verso il traguardo a ranghi ristretti, per affrontare la volata”.
Spettacolo, quindi, garantito per i numerosi spettatori che assisteranno alla gara. Per iniziare la stagione dello sci di fondo,  sabato 3 dicembre 2011, sarà proposta un’interessante iniziativa: una giornata “a porte aperte”, sul Monte Pana. Durante tutta la stagione invernale, ogni lunedì, saranno organizzati  corsi per principianti e i Maestri offriranno un’ora di lezione introduttiva, per apprendere le varie tecniche di questo piacevole sport. Il noleggio dell’attrezzatura potrà essere effettuato direttamente sul posto (1 ora di lezione al costo di 34,00 €, gratuito per ospiti degli esercizi che fanno parte del programma Val Gardena Active, S. Cristina).
Infine, lo Sci Club Gardena organizzerà la “Serata di sci di fondo al chiaro di luna”, ovvero due notti di luna piena in cui saranno praticabili le piste di fondo del nuovo centro del Monte Pana, dalle ore 20.00 in poi, con ingresso gratuito e noleggio aperto.
Le altre gare in calendario presso il Centro Fondo Monte Pana il prossimo inverno sono:
il  22 gennaio 2012 Val Gardena Ciasp, la corsa con le racchette da neve aperta a tutti; il 04 marzo 2012  la Coppa Italia e la gara provinciale di fondo e l’11 marzo 2012 la Gara nazionale giovani, di salto e combinata nordica.

THE JOY OF CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN VAL GARDENA

The Val Gardena-Siusi Alp is the biggest cross-country skiing area in Europe, comprising heights such as Monte Pana, and the FIS-Opa Continental Cup will be held here on the 10^th and 11^th December 2011

Val Gardena, November 14, 2011 - Val Gardena is not only a heavenly refuge for all alpine ski lovers, it is also a happy oasis for Nordic skiing enthusiasts, who can have fun by chilling out and admiring some of the most beautiful peaks of the Alps.

The cross-country skiing area Val Gardena-Alpe di Siusi covers 115 km of impeccable runs, among which Monte Pana and the Vallunga ski trails. The Val Gardena runs belong to the Dolomiti Nordic Ski circuit, the biggest cross-country circuit in Europe, covering approximately 1.300 km. 11 skiing areas, all accessible with one ski-pass and the guarantee of perfectly covered runs.

The Vallunga trail, near Selva, is located in the wildlife preserve Puez-Odle situated in that zone of the Dolomites which is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. There are three runs of different difficulty, for example the black run with its 12 km trail which will bring you to the “Pra da Ri”, a  large and wide unkempt expanse at the foot of the valley.

On the Monte Pana plateau (S. Cristina) a cross-country skiing centre was built at an altitude of 1.636 metres, with 5 zigzagging runs between 2,5 and 7,5 km in length, which snake down along a beautiful natural landscape and which are suited to beginners as well as advanced skiers, users of either classic or skating techniques. The Ladin names give some indication to the type of runs present: Mont Dessot (lower range - 2.5km and 93 mt drop), Palusc (moss - 5,2 km and 155mt drop), La Buja (the gap - 6,7 km and 195 mt drop), Vedl Verzon (old garden - 3.3 km and 118 mt drop) and the longest one, Val Scura, which serves as a bridge with Alpe di Siusi (obscure dell - 7,5km and 270mt drop). On the 10^th and 11^th December, Monte Pana will hold the international championship of mens' and ladies' cross-country skiing, which is part of the FIS-Opa Cross Country Continental Cup: 300 athletes, 20 different nations; Eugen Hofer, mayor of S. Cristina and promoter of the event, said: “ During winter Val Gardena is mainly known for alpine skiing. With this event we would like to strengthen the interest for Nordic skiing and spread the knowledge of the infrastructures we have here. Mount Pana has  an innovative cross country skiing centre, well structured, with a very specific circuit and tailored to every need”.

Pietro Piller-Cottrer, renowned champion of the Italian National team, said the following on the competition's course : “ It's a tortuous run with some nice ascents where one can really push hard, regroup momentarily and then start the descent, usually in tight formation, and then make the final dash for the line”.

It's going to be a mountain of fun for the numerous people watching the competition.

On the 3^rd December, to commence the cross-country skiing season, an interesting initiative has been thought of: an 'open-day' on Monte Pana: throughout the whole winter season every Monday beginner classes will be organised and the skiing teachers will hold introductory courses to illustrate various techniques of this pleasant popular sport. The equipment hire is on site (1 hour lessons cost 34,00 €, free for guests of those hotels which are part of Val Gardena Active, S. Cristina)

The Ski Club Gardena will organise “ Cross-country skiing by moonlight”: on two nights of full moon, the runs of the new cross-country centre on Monte Pana will be open from 8 pm onwards, free entrance and equipment hire.

The other competitions at the cross-country skiing centre on Monte Pana for the coming winter are as follows: 22^nd January 2012 Val Gardena Ciasp, the race with snowshoes open to everyone;  4^th March 2012 the 'Coppa Italia' and other provincial cross-country races, and on 12^th March the national competitions for youngsters of ski jumping and nordic combination.

Dezember 2011. bieten die Aussteller des Christkindlmarktes ihre handgefertigten Weihnachtsartikel, holzgeschnitzte Krippenfiguren aus dem Grödner Tal, Glas- und Strickwaren, Kerzen, Weihnachtskarten sowie Ladinische Spezialitäten an. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Handwerk und Tradition. Für eine gemütliche Weihnachtsstimmung sorgt ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm der Musikschule Gröden.

Die jüngsten Besucher des Christkindlmarktes erwartet am 5. Dezember eine besondere Überraschung: der Besuch des Hl. Nikolauses mit seinem Gefolge. Er wird große Freude bereiten und alle Kinder mit einer kleinen Erinnerung überraschen.

Neben dem Christkindlmarkt lohnt sich ein Besuch der größten handgeschnitzten Krippe der Welt. Dort können Sie an bestimmten Tagen den Bildhauern über die Schulter schauen.

Advent in St. Ulrich (siehe Adventkalender)

Der Tourismusverein St. Ulrich hat in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kaufleutevereinigung und den Gastwirten von St. Ulrich, ein stimmungsvolles Adventsprogramm ausgearbeitet. Jeden Tag finden verschiedene Veranstaltungen wie z.B. Verkostungen, Ausstellungen, Führungen, Adventkonzerte und vieles mehr statt, welche Ihnen die Möglichkeit geben werden die Adventszeit in vollen Zügen zu genießen.

The Tourist Office has elaborated in collaboration with the Commerce Association and the Hosts of Ortisei a magnificent advent programme. Every day events like, Advent concerts, exhibitions, visits and a lot more, will take place in our town and give you in the period before Christmas a moment of harmony and serenity.

Mostra di presepi

Il fascino dell'atmosfera natalizia viene rilevata ogni anno nel presepe, che rappresenta la nascita di Gesù Christo e simbolizza la pace. I primi presepi risalgono al 16esimo secolo e sono rinvenuti in Italia ed in Spagna. La tradizione del presepe, che viene coltivata e sviluppata in Val Gardena ormai da 400 anni, rimane ancora oggi uno dei soggetti principali della scultura in legno gardenese ed è presente in numerose mostre in tutto in mondo.

Quest’anno per la prima volta la Piazza Parrocchiale di Ortisei ospiterà l’ormai tradizionale mostra di presepi in legno Gardena Art.

Krippenausstellung

Der Zauber der weihnachtlichen Atmosphäre zeigt sich alljährlich in der Krippe, die die Geburt Jesu darstellt und den Frieden symbolisiert. Die ersten Krippen gehen auf das 16. Jahrhundert zurück. Sie wurden in Italien und Spanien in Kirchen und Fürstentümern entdeckt. Die Geburt Jesu Christi ist heute wie damals für viele Künstler eine Quelle der Inspiration. So spielt die Krippe auch in der Tradition der Grödner Holzbearbeitung seit immer eine wichtige Rolle.

Am Kirchplatz von St. Ulrich werden heuer zum ersten Mal auf einem Krippenweg die prächtigen holzgeschnitzten Krippen Grödner Werkstätten ausgestellt.

Crip exhibition

The charm of the Christmas atmosphere is shown up annually in the crib, which represents the birth Jesu Christ and which symbolizes peace. The first cribs goes back on 16. Century. They were discovered in Italy and Spain in churches and castels. The birth Jesu Christ is today a source of inspiration for many artists. Since always the crib plays a leading role in the tradition of Val Gardena’s woodcarver processing’s.

This traditional Val Gardena’s cribs will be representing for the first time at Church Square.

Festa dei diavoli e visita di S. Nicolò

Il 5 dicembre, appena quando fa buio, San Nicolò passa per le strade del paese, accompagnato dall’angelo e dal suo servitore Ruprecht, entra nelle case dai bambini e porta loro dei regali, lodandoli oppure rimproverandoli all’occorrenza.  Il Santo viene anche accompagnato da alcuni diavoli, che però non possono entrare in casa e devono aspettare fuori.

Krampustag und Besuch des Hl. Nikolaus

Sobald es dunkel wird zieht am 5. Dezember der Hl. Nikolaus zusammen mit dem Engel und Knecht Ruprecht von Haus zu Haus, bringt den braven Kindern Geschenke und tadelt sie, wo es angebracht ist.  Der Heilige Nikolaus wird oft auch von Krampussen begleitet; diese dürfen allerdings das Haus nicht betreten und müssen vor der Tür warten.

There is a special flair around our village on the 5th of December. Santa Klaus accompanied by angels and devils visits the obedient children, giving them presents, oranges and nuts.

Premiazione Super-G, presentazione degli atleti di discesa libera

Quest’anno avrà luogo la 44esima edizione della Saslong Classic valevole per la coppa del mondo di sci alpino. I campioni del super G maschile andranno in scena venerdì 16 dicembre 2011 e il giorno dopo, sabato 17 dicembre, si cimenteranno le grandi star dello sci nella classica discesa libera sulla Saslong.

Ortisei ha l’onore di presentare, venerdì 16.12.2011, come nelle ultime edizioni la premiazione del Super-G e la presentazione degli atleti di discesa libera di coppa del mondo. La cerimonia avrà inizio alle ore 17.30 in Piazza S. Antonio. Non perdetevi quest’evento straordinario con le star e le leggende dello sci alpino!

The Ski World Cup at Christmas

Siegerehrung Super-G, Vorstellung der Abfahrtsrennläufer

Heuer im Dezember findet die 44. Ausgabe der Saslong Classic, gültig für den FIS Ski Weltcup in Gröden statt. Die Rennfahrer des Super G werden am Freitag, 16. Dezember 2011 ins Rennen gehen, während die Abfahrtsrennläufer am Samstag, 17. Dezember 2011 am Start sein werden.

St. Ulrich hat auch heuer wieder die Ehre Gastgeber der Siegerehrung des Super-G  und der Vorstellung der Abfahrtsrennläufer des Weltcups zu sein. Die Zeremonie findet um 17.30 Uhr am Antoniusplatz statt. Alle sind herzlichst zu diesem erstklassigen Event mit den Champions und Legenden des Skiweltcups eingeladen.

The Ski World Cup at Christmas

Super-G prize giving ceremony, downhill's athletes

This year in December there will take place the 44th edition of the Saslong Classic, valid for the FIS Ski World Cup. The athletes of the Super G will go in scene on Friday 16 December 2011 and the day after, Saturday 17 December, will attempt the star the classic downhill race on the Saslong.

Ortisei has the honour to present, Friday 16 December 2011, like in last editions, the prize giving ceremony of the Super G race and the presentation  of the downhill’s athletes. The ceremony will begin at 05,30 p.m. and take place at S. Antonio Square. Don’t lose this amazing event with the stars and champions of the alpine ski world cup.

The Ski & Snowboard School Ortisei invites you to the breath taking torchlight ski show of New Year’s Eve. The ski teachers will introduce you in to the world of alpine ski and show you various techniques of skiing and gorgeous freestyle jumps.

Capodanno ad Ortisei

L’Associazione Turistica in collaborazione con gli osti organizza anche quest’anno nella zona pedonale di Ortisei una festa di Capodanno certamente indimenticabile.

Dopo lo spettacolo pirotecnico i vari locali nella zona pedonale di Ortisei, Vi invitano ad un aperitivo di fine anno. Tutto il centro di Ortisei sarà illuminato da luci e allietato con musica live di DJ Ondy. Festeggiate con noi in allegria l’arrivo del nuovo anno!

Silvester in St. Ulrich

Der Tourismusverein veranstaltet mit den Gastwirten auch heuer wieder eine stimmungsvolle Silvesterparty in der Fußgängerzone von St. Ulrich.

Nach dem Feuerwerk laden die verschiedenen Gastwirte in der Fußgängerzone zu einem Silvester Aperitif ein. Die ganze Fußgängerzone wird mit bezaubernden Lichtarrangements beleuchtet sein und DJ Ondy wird für gute musikalische Stimmung sorgen. Feiern Sie mit uns ins Neue Jahr!

New Year in Ortisei

The Tourist Office organizes with the barkeepers of Ortisei a spectacular New Year's Eve Party through the pedestrian area of Ortisei.

After the fireworks the different Bars in the Center of Ortisei invites you to a New Year’s Eve aperitif. The whole pedestrian area will be lighted by brightly lights arrangements and DJ Ondy will provide good a sound. Celebrate with us the arriving of the New Year!

IX. Concorso sculture in ghiaccio

L’Associazione Turistica di Ortisei organizza anche quest’anno dal 09 al 13 gennaio 2012 in collaborazione con il liceo d’arte "Cademia" e la scuola professionale per l'artigianato artistico di Ortisei, il IX. Concorso di scultura in ghiaccio. Le sculture più belle verranno premiate venerdì 13 gennaio 2012 alle ore 17.00 in Piazza S. Antonio. Il tema del concorso di quest’anno saranno le macchine d’epoca.

IX. Eisskulpturenwettbewerb

Vom 09. Jänner bis 13. Jänner 2012 veranstaltet der Tourismusverein St. Ulrich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kunstgymnasium "Cademia" und der Landesberufsschule für das Kunsthandwerk St. Ulrich den IX. Eisskulpturenwettbewerb. Die schönsten Skulpturen werden am Freitag, 13. Jänner 2012 um 17.00 Uhr am Kl. Antoniusplatz prämiert. Das Thema des heurigen Eisskulpturenwettbewerbs sind die Oldtimer Autos.

9th Ice sculpture competition

From the 9th to the 13th of January 2012 the Tourist Office Ortisei organizes in collaboration with the Art School “Cademia” and the Professional School of Art and Crafts of Ortisei the 9th Ice Sculpture Competition. The sculptures are realized in ice blocks and are exposed along the pedestrian area, giving a special flair to our village. The most beautiful sculptures will be awarded on Friday 13^th of January 2012 at 5 p.m. on S. Antonio Square. Theme of this edition will be old timer cars.

Grande corteo di Carnevale

Il periodo di carnevale rappresenta ormai da anni una importante caratteristica della località. Anche quest’anno avrà luogo, il giorno di Giovedì Grasso 12.02.2012, il tradizionale corteo in maschera per bambini ed adulti. Il corteo parte alle ore 14.30 dal bar Fever e finisce in Piazza Parrocchiale, dove verranno premiate le maschere più belle e divertenti. Con l’augurio di una numerosa e calorosa adesione, invitiamo tutti a partecipare a questo evento pieno di allegria!

Großer Faschingsumzug

Das bunte Treiben während der Faschingszeit stellt schon seit sehr vielen Jahren ein wichtiges Merkmal der Ortschaft dar. Am Unsinnigen Donnerstag findet jährlich der Faschingsumzug statt, an den hunderte maskierte Kinder und Erwachsene mit Begeisterung teilnehmen. Der Umzug startet vom Bar Fever und führt durch die Fußgängerzone bis zum Kirchplatz. Die schönsten und lustigsten Masken werden prämiert! Wir freuen uns schon auf eine zahlreiche und kunterbunte Teilnahme.

Big Carnival procession

The carnival time represents since ever an important characteristic of the town. On Carnival Thursday annually a special Carnival procession with hundred masked children and adults will take place.

It will start from the bar Fever at 02.30 p.m. and lead along the pedestrian area up to Church Square. The most beautiful masks will be awarded!

We are looking forward for a numerously and funny participation.

Pattinata di Carnevale

Martedì grasso presso la pista di pattinaggio Setil, si svolgerà la tradizionale pattinata di carnevale per tutti i bambini mascherati. L’ Ice Club Gardena si esibirà in un breve spettacolo, di seguito tutti i bambini potranno pattinare gratuitamente.

I clowns Tino & Pia animeranno il pomeriggio con giochi e scherzetti.

Faschingseislaufen

Am Faschingsdienstag findet beim Eisplatz Setil das traditionelle Faschingseislaufen für Kinder statt. Der Eis Club Gröden wird eine ca. 20 min. lange Showeinlage vorführen und anschließend können alle Kinder an diesem Nachmittag kostenlos maskiert eislaufen. Die Clowns Tino & Pia werden außerdem für Spaß und Unterhaltung sorgen.

Carnival Iceskating

On carnival Tuesday there will take place a carnival ice skating for all masked children at the icering Setil. The Ice Club Gardena will perform their ice show, afterwards all masked children can skate for free. The clowns Tino & Pia will provide for fun and entertainment.
