REWOOLUTION RAID WINTER 2012

The activewear brand is title sponsor of the stages in the Dolomites and in Livigno

Rewoolution, the innovative “Made in Italy” brand producing technical sportswear in pure merino wool, is sponsoring the Rewoolution Raid 2012, four multidisciplinary sporting events – two in winter and two in summer – to be held in striking natural locations. The brand, created out of a passion for sport and nature, has decided to offer the opportunity to experience days of sport surrounded by nature to everyone – professionals and amateurs.

The Rewoolution Raids are, in fact, a new way of enjoying the outdoors. Participants will have to tackle the land and its contours in every situation: rain, wind, snow, sun, ascents and descents. It is not a challenge against nature, but a way to connect with it: a multi-sport adventure that is able to put to the test the abilities of the participants and their team spirit.

Dolomites 17/18 March (start in Val Gardena on Plan de Gralba) and Livigno 31 March/1 April are the two winter editions dedicated to all skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts who want to spend a weekend surrounded by nature. An exciting challenge against time in two of the best known settings of the Alpine range.

The teams, made up of three people, will face different special tests: giant slalom, ski cross, freeride, freestyle, moguls and speed skiing.

That’s not all: by studying the ‘Road Book’, the teams must decide which tests to tackle and which of the numerous check points spread out over the area to search for, carefully assessing the best route to take to return to base camp within the time limit established. In addition, a special photographic contest, which will take place during the competition, will allow the teams to increase their final score.

The strategy adopted by each team will be crucial for achieving the points needed to win.

The team with the best overall score and a team selected at random - naturally only from among those that have participated in both stages (Dolomites and Livigno) – will win a trip to New Zealand, offered by ZQUE in collaboration with Rewoolution, to visit the company’s sheep rearing farm.

The Rewoolution Raids do not end with the winter editions; there will also be two Summer events in which teams will participate in disciplines such as mountain biking, orienteering, trail running, roping down, swimming, etc…
