Sentiero delle leggende per S. Giacomo
Questo sentiero
porta alla chiesetta di S. Giacomo. Le leggende raccontano che un
giovane gardenese, il conte Jakob von Stetteneck, la fece costruire
dedicandola a S. Giacomo, santo protettore dei camminatori. Il punto di
partenza è la chiesa parrocchiale di S. Cristina, nelle cui immediate
vicinanze si segue un sentiero nel bosco. Lungo il percorso sono stati
collocati 16 cartelli, che spiegano la leggenda del conte Jakob. Dal
maso “Festil” di S. Giacomo si intravede la chiesetta nel bosco, che si
raggiunge, quindi, percorrendo una ripida ma breve salita. La chiesetta
di S. Giacomo è la chiesa più antica della valle, poiché le sue origini
risalgono al lontano 12° secolo. Di notevole rilevanza sono gli
affreschi gotici del presbiterio e i dipinti del 16° secolo vicino
all’ambone, che raffigurano una parte della leggenda di S. Giacomo. La
chiesetta è aperta al pubblico esclusivamente in estate da inizio luglio
a metà settembre: lunedì, martedì e giovedì dalle ore 10.30 -12.00
mercoledì e venerdì dalle ore 10.30 – 12.00 e dalle 15.30 – 17.00.

Legendenweg St. Jakob
Dieser Weg führt zum St. Jakobs
Kirchlein. Der Legende nach lies der Grödner Graf Jakob von Stetteneck
diese errichten. Er widmete sie dem Hl. Jakob, Beschützer der Wanderer.
Ausgangspunkt ist die Pfarrkirche von St. Christina. Kurz hinter dieser
beginnt der Waldweg. Entlang des Weges stehen 16 Tafeln über die Legende
des Grafen Jakob gestaltet wurden. Am Bauernhof „Festil“ bei St. Jakob
angelangt, erreicht man nach einem kurzen Anstieg das Kirchlein. Das St.
Jakobskirchlein die älteste Kirche des Tales und reicht ins 12 Jh.
zurück. Von Bedeutung sind die gotischen Fresken und die Wandgemälde aus
dem 16. Jh. neben der Kanzel, die Szenen aus der Jakobslegende
darstellen. Öffnungszeiten des Kirchleins ausschließlich im Sommer von
Anfang Juli bis Mitte September: Montag Dienstag u. Donnerstag 10:30h –
12:00h Mittwoch u. Freitag 10:30h – 12:00h und 15:30 – 17:00h. Dauer 1,5
h.
Legend trail towards S. Giacomo
This trail lets you
discover the S. Giacomo church. According to legend, a young local
inhabitant, Count Jakob von Stetteneck, let it build. He dedicated it to
Saint Jakob, the protector of all hikers. The path starts at the church
of S. Cristina. Directly behind it, it goes through the woods. Along
the way there are 16 information boards. Their drawings and texts
explain the Legend of Count Jakob. From the old Festil house in S.
Giacomo you already see the church and after a steep but short ascent
you are in front of it. Tradition holds that the S. Giacomo church is
the oldest one of the whole valley, since its origin goes back to the
12th century. Its Gothic frescos in the presbytery and the paintings
from the 16th century near the pulpit, which represent scenes of the
legend, are valuable and unique. The church can be visited in summer
only, from the beginning of July until the middle of September: Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday from 10.30 a.m. – 12.00 a.m. Wednesday, Friday from
10.30 a.m. – 12.00 a.m. and from 15.30 p.m. – 17.00 p.m. Walking time
1,5 h.
