Furthermore the site has commented on Val Gardena as follows:

Val Gardena/ Alpe di Siusi – the BEST family solution
Apart from the slopes near to the Palmer and Furdena chairlifts and the ‘blue’ slopes of the rest of the ski carousel , also the ‘red’ slopes are fine for the younger ones. In fact much of the whole ski carousel is suitable for children, even those who are just past the beginner stage and are coming to terms with keeping a steady balance on the skis.
We would like to make particular mention of the interior part of Val Gardena which has numerous chairlifts and a snow-park for children. And besides there are opportunities for sledging or for a ride on a winter carriage through the snow directly available in the heart of the carousel, so making it a truly great place for the holiday of a lifetime. Parents are sure of a great time for whilst the younger ones are busy in the ski-schools they can explore the many slopes making up the Val Gardena carousel.

The BEST for beginners
Apart from taking in the stunning views across the Dolomites beginners have a great choice of slopes ideal for them. As well as the slopes near to the Palmer and Furdena chairlifts and the rest of the ’blue’ slopes spread across the carousel, also the  ‘red’ slopes are mainly suitable for beginners. And if you go to the far end of Val Gardena, near to Selva di Val Gardena, the slopes there are particualrly ideal for those taking their first steps on the snow. For the more confident skier there is a wealth of choice across the carousel to both explore new areas and perfect one’s style. There are more than 50 km of slopes for beginners, and as mentioned some of the ‘red’ slopes are fine for beginners too. As the connecting slopes from Val Gardena to Alpe di Siusi can prove a little difficult and take some time we recommend you to choose one or the other at the beginning of your ski day. It is thanks to the extensive offer for all beginners in winter sports that we decided to give such a high classification to Val Gardena in this category.
